About Me
Hey there! Thanks for visiting my website. I'm a hard-working and fun-loving instructional designer who thrives in an environment where I feel that I'm helping others. Whether that's part of a team or designing and developing material that supports others in their own journey, I love being able to use my detective skills to get to the root issue and create an engaging training solution (bonus if I get to nerd out with some eLearning, I do love Storyline). I'm willing and able to jump in at any point in the design process, whether it's a needs analysis or finishing up editing videos in the development stage.
On a more personal note, I think another part of why I love the designing and development aspects of Instructional Design is because I have always been someone who genuinely loves to learn. I'm a pretty curious person who likes to know why things happen and I'm constantly trying to guess or theorize about what comes next. This probably makes me very annoying to watch television shows with (apologies to my kind and patient husband).
In addition to that, I love to travel. I grew up in a small town and I truly believe traveling makes someone a better person. Or at least that's what I tell myself to justify my travels. I also really love to hike. The feeling of accomplishment when you finally get to the destination makes all the work (and sometimes pain) worthwhile. This is a frame of mind I try to take with me no matter the situation I find myself in. I also have three of the best cats (who think they're dogs) in the whole world. It's the perfect type of pet: low maintenance but nondestructive and greets you at the door when you come home and then snuggles with you on the couch while you watch the Boston Celtics (Go Celtics!).
